Barbre wasn’t born from a business plan.

It started with a bag.

For nearly three years, I lived on a small island in the Philippines.

During that time, life looked different every day. I was coaching CrossFit classes, building an ice cream business, creating content, riding motorcycles, traveling between islands, spending days at the beach, attending meetings, and saying yes to opportunities that constantly pushed me outside my comfort zone.

Life was busy.

Sometimes messy.

Always full.

Throughout all of it, there was one thing I found myself carrying everywhere: a woven recycled bag.

It came with me to the gym.

To the beach.

To markets.To dinner.

On ferries. On flights.

On motorcycles.

It carried groceries, camera gear, laptops, beach towels, and everything in between.

What surprised me wasn’t how beautiful it was.

It was how well it held up.

Despite being used every single day, it never seemed to wear out.

People constantly stopped me to ask where I got it.

Friends wanted one.

Visitors wanted one.

Family members wanted me to bring them home.

The more I used it, the more I realized it represented everything I valued.

It was handmade by artisans.

Made from recycled materials.

Built to last.

Practical enough for real life.

And colorful enough to stand out in a world full of boring bags.

Eventually, I realized I wanted to share them.

Not because I wanted to start a bag company.

But because I genuinely believed in the product and the people behind it.

So I took a chance.

What started with a few bags quickly grew into something much bigger.

Today, Barbre is built on the same values that first made me fall in love with them:

And living life fully.

We believe products should be used.
